Cookies, milk and a good book offered at Cascade Locks branch library

Hungry for a good story? The Cascade Locks branch library invites all second through fifth graders to come in for cookies, milk and a great book.

The group will be reading along to the audio recording of Roald Dahl’s classic tale, “The BFG (Big Friendly Giant),” on Nov. 22-27.

The BFG is the tale of Sophie, an orphan who, along with her new friend the BFG and a little help from the Queen of England herself, takes on a pack of revolting, man-eating giants.

Every participant gets their own copy of the book, and of course, milk and cookies. A drawing for a Roald Dahl book collection will be held at the end of the program.

“Cookies and Books” is a five-day program and kids are encouraged to attend all sessions:

Fri. Nov. 22, 5-6 p.m.

Sat. Nov. 23, 2-3 p.m.

Mon. Nov. 25, 1-2 p.m.

Tues. Nov. 26, 2-3 p.m.

Wed. Nov. 27, 2-3 p.m.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Hood River County Library District at 541-386-2535, info@hoodriver, or visit their website at http://
