Gorge wildlife presentation at library Oct. 5

Local wildlife expert, biologist and author, Bill Weiler, will give a presentation on Wildlife in the Gorge Saturday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m., at The Dalles/Wasco County Library.

Weiler will share how to live well with wildlife, what to do when encountering a “dangerous” species, and what are the gorge’s rarest endangered species.

Weiler will talk about his book, “Don’t Run from Bears and Other Advice on Living with Wildlife in the Columbia River Gorge.”

Bill Weiler is a wildlife biologist who has worked with every branch of government. He started the Columbia Gorge Ecology Institute, an environmental education organization.

He is currently a land and community steward consultant and will conduct free surveys on
