Mid-Columbia Fire and Rescue

October 10, 3:23 p.m. – Personnel were dispatched to a small brush fire along Interstate 84, milepost 86. Crews were unable to locate a fire and returned to quarters.

October 10, 6:46 p.m. – Crews responded to a fire alarm in the 1000 block of West Pine. No fire found, crews updated batteries in smoke detectors and scheduled them for replacement, as they were more then 10 years old.

Personnel also responded to four calls for emergency medical services.

The Dalles City

The owner of an aggressive dog loose in the area of Colonel Wright School was advised Thursday morning that he would be cited if the dog escaped again. The dog had chewed through a back gate.

The driver of a vehicle stopped in the 300 block of West First was arrested early Friday morning on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Wasco County

Deputy arrested a man Thursday morning on a warrant for theft and possession of a controlled substance.

A woman complained about log trucks speeding as they drove down Mill Creek Road Thursday morning. Officer checked speed of several trucks, and found them to be within the legal limit. The resident was later advised to stop walking into the roadway in front of the trucks.

A man reported the theft of his “stump jumper” bicycle from the twin tunnels between Mosier and Hood River.
