Letter to the Editor: Scary without pool

— Scary without pool

To the editor:

Imagine life for The Dalles without a pool. Oh, wait, it’s too scary, isn’t it?

I’ve heard that the memorial pool might possibly shut down. I know some citizens might think it should be closed. I disagree. I’ve heard there might be a ballot. I’ve seen the billboards around town, so let’s think here. I’ve listed some reasons why the pool should stay open:

  1. Almost everyone in town goes there during the summer. 2. It is less expensive than other alternatives. 3. It’s much cleaner than the river. 4. It’s safe for children. 5. All my fellow students and friend go there on hot summer days. 6. People who work there during the summer will lose their summer jobs.

So, as one can see, the memorial pool, I think, should stay open. I have my reasons, I hope you will take my reasons into consideration.
