The Dalles To the editor:
Do you enjoy the American Flags displayed downtown and out West Sixth Street in The Dalles?
Do you know that a hard working group of Boy Scouts and their parents are responsible for placing the flags on federal holidays, Cherry Festival and Fort Dalles Days?
Do you know that The Dalles Community Flag program is a fundraising project for local Boy Scout Troop 352?
Do you know that the funds raised go directly to support the Boy Scouts in attending summer camp, other camping trips and leadership building activities, as well as continued flag maintenance?
Businesses in The Dalles will be receiving their Flag Program donation requests in the mail this week. While the flags are displayed in the high traffic areas of town, they are a community symbol of our patriotism.
Although your business may not be located downtown or out West Sixth, please consider making a donation to this program.
Anyone wishing to make a tax deductible donation to keep this program running, may make their check out to: Boy Scout Troop 352 and mail it to: The Dalles Community Flag Program, 7120 Mill Creek Road, The Dalles, OR 97058. A tax deduction receipt will be mailed back to you.
Anyone questions may be directed to Eric at 541-980-2282. Thank you!
