Arterials to be resurfaced

— Street resurfacing projects are planned for Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 18 and 19, on two arterial streets in The Dalles.

Dry Hollow Road will be resurfaced between Ninth and 19th streets. Mt. Hood Street will be resurfaced between 10th and 23rd streets. The work was postponed from August as a result of the Government Flats Fire Complex.

Beginning at 6 a.m. on Dry Hollow each day, a layer of oil and rock will be applied to the street surface. The same process will occur between midday and 6 p.m. on Mt. Hood.

Dry Hollow Road will require complete closure, including emergency vehicles during application time.

During Mt. Hood application times pilot vehicle use and traffic rerouting will occur. Detours will be posted.

Drivers should expect dust for several days. For the safety of workers, drivers are asked to use caution and be alert to detour and warning signs.
