Letter to the Editor: Driving nightmare

— Police, please

To the editor:

Where is our police presence? Driving in this town has become a nightmare. I see people failing to stop at stop signs, speeding, talking on cell phones, pulling out and cutting off people and not a police officer in sight.

I was sitting in a house on East 10th west of Dry Hollow Road when a car flew down the street, shifting gears and going about 60 miles per hour. Where are our police? I watched a car speeding downtown pass in front of an officer in his car and the officer did nothing. Why are we paying them, if they only come out to arrest drunk drivers and for fights?

It is a crap shoot nowadays whether you will make it home, driving through this town. Something needs to be done.
