Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

Friday, April 18, 6:35 p.m. – Crews were called to a smoke investigation at apartments in the 2800 block of West Seventh Street. A resident called after smelling smoke in the laundry room. Investigation found a washer overfilled with laundry and it burned the belt and the machine stopped.

Friday, April 18, 6:42 p.m. – Crews were called to the historic Anderson House on a smoke alarm. Nothing was showing and crews used thermal imaging equipment and detected no heat or smoke. A knox box was on scene, but none of the keys fit in the locks. They called the numbers of responsible parties for the Anderson Home, but none of them could be reached. After the investigation, crews returned to quarters.

Sunday, April 20, 12:31 a.m. – Crews were called to the 2000 block of East 13th on a report of a fire in a back yard with people throwing gas on it. Two people were found standing around the fire, which they said they were letting burn itself out so they could go to bed. No problem found.

The Dalles City

A caller reported Friday morning property was tagged by graffiti just above the North Wasco County School District office.

A caller reported Friday morning a business on East 10th and Kelly Ave. was broken into. Nothing was taken.

A man reported Friday morning ongoing problem with graffiti on the fence, which was tagged again the night before.

A woman reported Friday afternoon her dog was missing since Monday and she knew where it was. An officer located the dog and returned it to its owner.

A woman called Friday evening to report a man who she is in the process of getting a stalking order against was continuing to drive around her home and flipped her off. There is a small child in the man’s car. Deputies located the suspect, served him with a restraining order and seized his weapons, releasing them to a family friend.

A woman called Friday evening to report her neighbor’s son’s ex-girlfriend went to the neighbor’s house and hit a person. The suspect then reportedly stood outside yelling and screaming. Deda Cathleen Carter, 39, 1511 H St., was arrested in the 1000 block of East 14th Street and is accused of harassment and second-degree disorderly conduct.

Dora Elaine Mee, 71, 609 W. 13th St., was arrested in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street Friday evening and is accused of third-degree theft.

Elmina Lee Ching, 43, Prineville, was arrested Friday evening in the 3800 block of West Sixth Street on a warrant and is accused of failure to appear and third-degree theft out of Multnomah County.

A man called Friday to report finding a marijuana pipe in his son’s bedroom behind his television. The son was cited for marijuana possession.

A man reported Friday evening a bouncer at a bar was holding his debit card and trying to pick a fight with him. He got his card back before police arrived.

A woman reported early Saturday morning her intoxicated husband hit her and held her down with his knee in her throat. The husband left and police gave the woman a domestic violence pamphlet.

A man reported Saturday morning he lost his wallet the night before and his debit card was used at a local mini-mart. Report taken.

An officer saw a man passed out on the curb on Madison Street early Sunday morning in front of a business. A business employee called a taxi for the man.

A woman reported Sunday morning her daughter’s iPhone 4S was stolen from West Seventh and Hostetler streets.

A vehicle backed into another vehicle Sunday afternoon in a parking lot in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street. The victim called after the suspect, but the person drove off.

A caller reported Sunday evening a man came into a fast food restaurant dressed in a purple religious gown and sat in the corner and gave her funny looks. She said he was “acting weird” and giving ‘creepy looks” to her. The caller left and doesn’t know if the man is still there.

A woman called Sunday evening to report she was locked in Sorosis Park. Officers were busy on priority calls and she called back to say she’d just leave and come get her car in the morning.

A theft report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported a tool was taken from his yard overnight.

A criminal mischief report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported someone broke her vehicle window overnight.

Gary Anthony Pilcher, 33, 1320 Dry Hollow Rd., was arrested Monday morning in his home and is accused of menacing.

Juan Armando Miguel Cabrera, 18, 813 Hostetler Way No. 1, was arrested Monday afternoon in the 300 block of West 11th Street and is accused of first-degree criminal trespass.

Police responded to the skate park Monday evening on a report of a large fight between several juveniles. Contact was made with several juveniles who advised they were goofing around but there was no physical altercation.

Joshua Craig Collier, 27, Vancouver, Wash., was arrested Monday evening in the 2100 block of West 6th Street and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, hit and run, and initiating a false report to a police officer.

Jess David Eichstadt, 34, Portland, was arrested early Tuesday morning at West 11th and Pentland streets and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Wasco County

Franklin RB Moss, 31, 81849 Fairgrounds Rd., Tygh Valley, was arrested Friday night in the 2700 block of West Seventh Street on a The Dalles Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear.

A woman came to the sheriff’s office with letters trespassing five people from a mobile home park.

An employee from the Discovery Center reported Friday evening abortion protesters were harassing people coming to the center and she was concerned because they were having an event that evening.

A caller reported Friday night a post office was open and nobody was around. A responsible party responded and found the key was left in the door and the door open. They locked the door.

Preston Leigh Allen, 21, 3564 E. 2nd St., No. 28, The Dalles, was arrested on Friday night in the 200 block of West Seventh Street on a warrant for failure to appear and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Jason Michael Barker, 27, no address, was arrested in the 2700 block of West Seventh Street in The Dalles and is accused of probation violation and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

A man reported Saturday evening $250 in coins were stolen from his house and the suspect is the person who was house-sitting for him. She admitted the theft and paid him back. Now, the victim learned his credit card was used at Home Depot and he suspects his house-sitter.

A telephonic harassment report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim advised she was continually being harassed by her sons ex-girlfriend. The incident is under investigation.

Derrick Andrew Ellis, 22, 1505 Thompson St., was arrested Tuesday afternoon in his home and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct and first-degree public indecency.

Jimmy James Spino, 22, 3817 West 10th St. No. 11, was arrested Tuesday evening at West 9th and Irvine streets and is accused of attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, and two counts of parole violation.

Oregon State Police

A driver threw a handgun out of a window while on a traffic stop on Interstate 84 eastbound at milepost 74. A trooper had the subject at gunpoint until backup arrived. Adan Martinez Vargas, 22, Sunnyvale, Calif., was arrested and accused of unlawful use of a weapon, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of cocaine, possession of burglary tools, and unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Sherman County

Cody Ray Holland, 37, Hermiston, was remanded from Sherman County Circuit Court on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and criminal driving while suspended/revoked.

Derek Robert Mayokok, 33, Wasco, was arrested early Tuesday morning and is accused of two counts of strangulation, three counts of fourth-degree domestic assault, and interference with making a report.

Regional Jail

Amber Renee Whitefoot, 26, 1106 Emerson Dr. No. 14, The Dalles, was arrested in Wasco County District Court and is accused of contempt of court.

Krystal Rae Sapien, 29, 1501 E. 11th St., turned herself in on a Wasco County Circuit Court remand for contempt of court.

Moses Ruiz Olivan, 27, 2301 E. 12th St., was remanded to the regional jail on a court commitment from The Dalles Municipal Court for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Morningstart Lee Sampson, 32, Union Gap, Wash., was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for endangering the welfare of a minor.

Wayne Erin Swanson, 55, Rufus, was jailed Monday on a Sherman County court commitment for first-degree theft.
