Storm City Roller Girls in Hood River May 10

Storm City Roller Girls (SCRG), Vancouver, Washington’s first and only women-owned flat track roller derby league, will travel to Hood River for a bout against the Gorge Roller Girl All-Stars Saturday May 10.

The event will take place 6 p.m., at Hood River Valley High School, 1220 Indian Creek Rd.

The two teams will battle it out for the first time ever and the event is expected to sell out. Tickets can be purchased on the website:

Founded in December 2012, SCRG is a skater-owned and operated flat track roller derby league, and within the next year, will be registered as a 501c3 non-profit organization. The league promotes the sport of women’s roller derby through the training and development of female athleticism within Clark County.

The league currently consists of a single team that is both the home and travel team. SCRG aims to grow large enough to start additional home teams within the next couple years.

Gorge Roller Girls was established in 2012 representing the Columbia River Gorge.
