The culmination of a lengthy investigation by the Mid-Columbia Narcotics Task Force (MINT Team) resulted in the arrest of a local man and seizure of drugs and firearms, the team reported.

Shonn David Watson, 42, was arrested at his residence, 847 Richland Court, while a search warrant was executed.

Watson is lodged at the regional jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, possession of a firearm with the serial number removed and possession of marijuana, a violation.

MINT Team detectives were assisted in execution of the search warrant by officers from The Dalles Police Department and deputies from the Wasco county Sheriff’s office. The MINT Team is made up of detectives from those two agencies whose primary assignment is the investigation of drug offenses.

I would like to send a HUGH thank you to the MINT team and TD police for taking this scum bag down. He has been dealing drugs in my neighborhood forever, bringing the kind of traffic that forces my kids to play inside where it's safe. He is finally off the streets and our entire block could not be happier.
