Aug. 12, 11:56 a.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury crash reported at Sixth and Webber streets. A driver’s foot slipped off the brake and she rear-ended a vehicle in front of her at low speed. Insurance information was exchanged.

Aug. 12, 2:54 p.m. – Two-vehicle, non-injury, non-blocking crash under underpass by West Sixth and Webber streets. A driver was cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured and careless driving. Vehicle towed.

A man reported Tuesday morning his wallet was stolen after he dropped it while mowing his grass.

A woman reported Tuesday afternoon a stereo system was stolen from her vehicle at Seventh and Hostetler.

Linda Kay Cherry, 52, 1021 E. 9th, Apt. 2, was arrested at a store Tuesday afternoon and is accused of third-degree theft.

A woman reported Tuesday morning getting harassing phone calls from people telling her if she didn’t give them money, then police would come pick her up.

An employee at a gas station reported Tuesday afternoon someone was smoking marijuana in the bathroom, and had been in there for about 15 minutes. They left heading toward Interstate 84 westbound.

A woman reported Tuesday morning another tenant in her apartment complex was sending her threatening messages.

A woman called police crying because their neighbor told them they stink and need to clean their house. The house was extremely dirty and the caller advised she was trying to clean it.

A man reported late Tuesday parts of his bike were stolen. Police found the parts and when the man called 911 again, the officer returned the parts and provided a business card with the police non-emergency number written on it.

A man reported graffiti Tuesday evening on a vacant lot in the 200 block of Terminal Avenue.

A woman reported a man was staring into her window early Wednesday morning. Police could find no one.

Wasco County

A woman reported Tuesday afternoon a man has texted her with threats to her family. The man hung up when a deputy called him and identified himself. So the deputy called back and left a message for the man that he faced charges if he continued to contact the woman.

A woman reported Tuesday evening finding a bike in her field.

A caller reported a vehicle in a ditch on Dufur Valley Road a half mile from Highway 197. A deputy arrived and found the vehicle gone, but saw a vehicle matching the description, with side damage, driving away. The driver was stopped and told to file a crash report. The driver said speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Oregon State Police

Tuesday evening on Interstate 84 near milepost 86, a trooper pulled a vehicle over for failing to maintain its lane. Given consent to search, he found drug paraphernalia in a backpack. Returning to the vehicle, he saw a baggy of methamphetamine on the ground. He reviewed his in-car patrol camera, which showed the driver dropping the baggy of meth on the ground as he walked from his vehicle to the patrol car. Greg Normal Jarl, 47, 804 Tidyman Rd., Dallesport, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. His vehicle was towed.

Early Wednesday morning, a driver was stopped at US 30 and River Road in The Dalles for weaving across lanes. Leonel Vega, 20, 4109 Chenoweth Rd., Unit C11, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. The vehicle was towed.

Regional Jail

Donald Wesley McKenzie, 39, 316 E. 10th, was transported to the regional jail from Deschutes County on a warrant for post-prison supervision sanction.

Oleg Olegovich Kirillov, 28, Portland, was transported to the regional jail from Multnomah County on a Sherman County warrant for probation violation.

Thomas John Girtz, Jr., 25, Eagle Creek, Ore., was transported to the regional jail from Multnomah County on a Wasco County warrant for probation violation.

Brian Michael Edley, 30, 3817 W. 10th, No. 7, was remanded to the regional jail on a court commitment for two counts of probation violation.

Matthew Stephen Phillips, 22, 3625 W. 8th St., was arrested at the community corrections office and booked at the regional jail on two counts of probation violation.

William Theodore Hammond III, 34, 4667 Orchard Rd., was arrested at the community corrections office and booked at the regional jail on a charge of post-prison supervision sanction.

Travis Michael Collins, 24, no address, The Dalles, was arrested at the community corrections office and jailed on a charge of post-prison supervision sanction.
