‘Story walk’ focuses on fun, fitness

The North Central Public Health District and The Dalles Main Street Program invite area families to enjoy “Story Walk.”

This fun, free event offers families of young children an opportunity to combine physical activity with literacy.

The focus on healthy development and school readiness is an innovative way to get people of all ages out walking while reading children’s picture books.

Pages of a book are transformed into signs that are posted, inviting folks to follow along and read the story.

A “Story Walk” book is located in the windows of the currently vacant Recreation Building and Granada Theater. Begin your walk on the west end of the Recreation at 213 E. 2nd St in The Dalles.
