To the editor:
Once again President Obama has shown his disregard for American law by getting involved in an investigation of a black man’s shooting by a police officer. His prior intervention in the Trayvon Martin shooting was unprecedented and incredulous.
Obama has proven to be weak, ineffective and indecisive. But his AG Holder is now neck-deep in Michael Brown’s shooting death investigation. He has brought the FBI and who knows how much governmental pressure and people to bear on this case. Sadly the Attorney General has been too busy to investigate the obvious shenanigans of Lerner and the IRS, the prolific snooping and eves dropping by the NSA, the gun law violations of the BATFE in the notorious Mexican drug cartel gun-running scheme, Black Panther violations of voting access and a dozen or more other scandals of recent or current happenings.
President Obama finds it extremely difficult to bring pressure to bear on our flagging foreign policies or on his own Democrats to get legislation passed on immigration reform or anything else, but he has time to get involved in a local criminal case. Instead he spends his time either blaming Bush for current political problems or the Republicans for not promoting or passing legislation on immigration reform. How can they when his puppet Harry Reid will not allow any house legislation to be introduced to the floor of the Senate?
One would think that if Obama was going to get involved in the shooting of a young black man he would concern himself with the numbers of young black men that are murdered every weekend in Chicago … where his friend and protégé Rahm Emanuel is mayor. Facts are, we should keep in mind that the greatest danger to any young black man is another young black man with a gun.
I have a son who is a man of color. As he grew up here on occasion he and his parents were made all too aware of the fact that he was different than the other boys. My heart goes out to the parents of Michael Brown in their loss. The current riots in St. Louis are tragic and senseless. Obama’s intervention is even more so.
