Series of family classes offered in Spanish

The Oregon Child Development Coalition is offering Opening Doors, a series of Spanish language family classes open to parents with children from birth to 5 years old.

The classes are free, but space is limited so the organizers recommend early sign-up. The classes are scheduled for 10 weeks, every Thursday, starting Feb. 13, at 5:30 p.m.

Opening Doors is a comprehensive 10-session parent leadership and advocacy training program. During each session, parents are engaged in different topics, including how to be your child’s first teacher, goal setting, communication, ages and stages of development, promoting literacy, choosing preschool and child care services, health and nutrition, and socio-emotional wellness.

Participation incentives will be offered. Child care and a light dinner will be available.

Find out more about the classes by calling Gabriel Muro at the Oregon Child Development Coalition, 541-490-6429, or online at:
