Maupin To the editor:
This is in response to Mr. Gary Fischer’s letter from (Sunday's print version) of the Chronicle.
Mr. Fischer, you have your own brand of religion that you preach quite often. Being an atheist you try to shove your beliefs down everyone’s throat expecting everyone to follow your teachings. You believe that there is no afterlife and try to back that up factually but the realization is, you don’t know nor does anyone else.
If a Christian believes there is life after death, why do you feel the need to take that happiness it brings to their life and try to stifle it? I personally believe you are an unhappy and lonely man because there is no way to be happy and do what you do.
Let others believe what they will and come to the realization that all your work is pointless. You are not a scholar on the Bible, you don’t know for sure there is life after death, and you cannot backup your pathetic argument with anything but what you believe.
Note: Sunday's letter by Mr. Fischer was not published online, as it was deemed to not meet the online discussion requirement that discourse "be a constructive forum for the use of civilized people."
