The Dalles City

January 7, 6:19 p.m. – One vehicle non-injury crash, near freeway entrance on West Second Street. Driver believed he was entering freeway but hit a fence pole instead. Vehicle towed.

January 7, 6:29 p.m., single-vehicle, non-injury crash on 2600 block of Old Dufur Road. Ashlynn Chylana Sohappy, 27, 8 Celilo Village Rd. No 3, was arrested and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

January 7, 7:09 a.m. — Fire personnel responded to the library on a fire alarm, but it was a system malfunction. Crews also responded to five calls for emergency medical service.

The Dalles City

A man who made threats to a teller previously was back at a bank in the 400 block of East Third Street and was raising his voice to the manager Tuesday morning. Police trespassed the man from the bank.

Robert Canfield Wusthoff, 38, 1610 Garrison, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at 11th and Jordan on a warrant for probation violation

A woman called police Tuesday afternoon from the 1300 block of Perkins Street West to say she and her mother were arguing about care for her daughter, and she told her mother to go ahead and just take the child. The mother did, and the woman wanted an Amber Alert issued. The mother was later found with the child and agreed to return the child to its father in Washington, which was OK with the woman.

A woman asked to speak to police Tuesday afternoon about money being taken at a business in the 3300 block of West Sixth Street.

A woman in the 700 block of Hostetler reported receiving a counterfeit $50 bill Tuesday afternoon.

A person in the area of East 14th and Montana called police Tuesday evening to say a woman was climbing a utility pole on Montana and messing with the lines and there was no utility truck around. The woman was wearing a red coat with a wide, shiny black belt and a green hat with a tassel. Police looked for the woman, but couldn’t find her.

A man in the 500 block of West Third Place reported Tuesday evening a tenant was throwing things on the lawn and tearing up the apartment. Police tried to contact the man, but he wouldn’t come to the door.

Wasco County

A woman from the 79000 block of Dodson Road called to report hearing someone yell “help me!” Her son found a man tangled up in a fence, and helped free him.

Regional Jail

Toni Jean Cribbs, 32, 763 Hostetler, was remanded to the regional jail on a court commitment for contempt of court.

John Michael Black, 59, 4405 Hwy 30 West No. 406, was remanded to the regional jail on a probation violation.
