Huskies girls drop Central Christian

Janet Guzman scored a game-high 15 points and senior point guard Andie Harrison reeled off nine to lead the Sherman Huskies to their second straight win, 41-16 Friday in a Big Sky West Division tussle in Redmond.

With the Lady Huskies having an opportunity to cement them into sole possession of second place in the league, they used solid defense, tough rebounding and one of their best offensive outputs of the season to easily dispatch the fourth-place White Tigers (5-5 overall, 2-3 league).

“The ladies played hard with a bit more intensity and they executed better tonight than they did on Tuesday (a 47-11 win over Horizon Christian),” said Sherman head basketball coach Steve Kaseberg. “Everyone that traveled (to Redmond) got a lot of playing time.” The Huskies (6-7, 2-2) played Siletz Valley Saturday, and then they host Trout Lake, Wash. at 6 p.m. Tuesday for their final non-league contest.
