The Wasco County Veterans Services Office is sponsoring an outreach booth at the Jammin’ July Street Fest, Saturday, July 12th, from 5 to 10 p.m.
The Hidden Heroes booth will provide special outreach to vet caregivers and military families (also known as hidden heroes) from the World War II era to families coping right now with current deployments.
Jammin’ July Street Fest is a street fair for the whole community. Good music, good food, family fun, and information are available in downtown The Dalles.
The booth will be located at the corner of Second and Federal streets, one block from the Veterans Services Office.
A massage therapist will provide TLC shoulder/neck massages for caregivers and a TLC caregiver basket will be available by raffle. Jody Marsh, an Oregon National Guard Family Support Specialist and Stephen Jensen, a Joint Transition Program Specialist, will be available to help veterans and military spouses and their children access information and support.
The VSO office will also be open and Russell Jones, veterans service officer, will be on hand to provide service information.
