Letter to the editor: Thanks, fest folk

To the editor:

As the Coordinator for The Dalles Main Street Program, I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for all the support we received for the Jammin’ July Street Fest earlier this month. It is incredible when an event such as this comes together through the hard work of many volunteers and support from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Thank you very much!

I was amazed at the turnout, especially on such a hot day. We had nearly 5,000 attendees who came down for some great activities and shows such as the Wild West Shoot Out, Chalk the Block, Kidz Zone, Cherry Pit Spit, and more. The shoot-out had two shows with over a thousand people watching.

Volunteers are the very heart of The Dalles Main Street Program. Please contact me if you are interested in becoming a volunteer and would like to get involved with organizing activities and events such as Jammin July, The Downtown Spring Clean Up, Downtown Christmas Lights, and more.

All of these help contribute to the wonderful community fabric here in The Dalles.

Thank you again for all the support and feedback and we are looking forward to making Jammin’ July even better next year!

If you would like to learn more about Main Street please check out our website at or contact me at 541-370-2966.
