Man gets life in Silverton killing

SILVERTON, Ore. (AP) — A 22-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting a man in a Silverton home.

Marion County prosecutors say Uriah Mckinley pleaded guilty to murder, robbery, and other charges. He was sentenced to life in prison on the murder charge.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Jeffrey Lamoreaux. He died of gunshot wounds of the head.

Co-defendant Andrew Slover was also charged the December killing.

He is currently in Marion County Jail. His next court appearance is in September.
