To the editor:
About the teens who are loitering the yards and street, why are they doing this? Trampling flowers in a flower bed — acting like 2-year-olds. They are just doing it for attention. Well, give them attention. Why should they get away with it?
I think, underneath it all, they don’t know what to do with their free time. They are not motivated. Maybe group or single counseling would be the answer.
The adults have failed them: They have no purpose in life.
Work and study do not have to cease just because school is out. The kids could find part-time jobs to earn spending money, and read some good books. All they need is guidance. To know somebody cares about them.
Does anybody else have any ideas?
