Community Church Service

A community church service and free barbecue is set for Sunday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Sorosis Park in The Dalles.Bring lawn chairs.

Pastor Arron Swenson of Pendleton will be speaking, and the event is sponsored by local churches.

Gateway Presbyterian

Senior Pastor Dr. Tom Pipkin will give the sermon “A Blustery Day” at the 8:30 a.m. traditional and 11 a.m. contemporary services.

Classes for children, youth and adults are offered from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

On Wednesday, youth group and women’s study start at 6 p.m. and men’s study starts at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, men’s Bible study is at 6:30 a.m.

First Christian Church

Weekend services include an informal potluck and message on Friday nights at 7 p.m., a Saturday Night Live Service at 6 p.m., and Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday night Youth Group meets at 7 p.m. for sixth grade through high school.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church

This Sunday St. Paul’s is celebrating Pentecost, the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church, with lots of red: wear yours. The church will also say farewell to the choir for the summer, but will look forward to special offerings and a refreshed choir in the fall.

The church’s Relay for Life team is ramping up and a sign-up sheet will be out at coffee hour. The community gardens are underway, and the church will be blessing the veggies and produce that they provide for the food bank.
