Free Social Security

When selecting Social Security benefits, recipients must choose from dozens of options, regardless of age.

A free Social Security workshop is being offered by financial planner Ryan Jensen of Jensen and Sons of Vancouver, Wash. This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ at 1 NE Pioneer Place in White Salmon.

The public is invited to participate. Topics to be addressed include strategies that could increase your Social Security income by $50,000 to $200,000 through retirement, Social Security as taxable income, and commonly made mistakes when electing to start taking Social Security.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a potluck supper followed by the presentation. Last names A-M are asked to bring a main dish; N-Z salad or dessert. Childcare will be provided.

Questions may be directed to Jim Tindall in the evenings at 509-493-1035 or
