June 25, 2:53 p.m. – Two vehicle, injury accident at the junction of Highway 197 and Highway 30. A Ford Ranger pickup stopped in a coned-off construction zone and lane closure for rock removal from the nearby cliff. and was struck from behind by a second vehicle. A passenger in the back of the pickup was thrown forward but not ejected, and was cited for not using a safety belt. Operator of the second vehicle was cited for following too close.

June 25, 8:42 p.m. – Crews were dispatched to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1805 Minnesota, on a report of the smell of smoke. A fan above a dishwasher burned out and threw a circuit breaker, and smoke was observed coming through the outside wall behind the fan. The fan was over 300 degrees on arrival, and crews removed a bird nest from behind the cowl.
Crews also responded to 12 requests for emergency medical services.
Memorial plaques at the Fort Rock site on the Columbia River west of Union Street were vandalized in an attempt to remove them.
An iPad with a red shield cover and Batman stickers on the back was reported stolen early Wednesday afternoon at The Dalles Wasco County Library.
A suspicious man with a rifle was reported in the 3000 block of Fivemile road. Oregon State Police also responded with two officers. Nicholas B. Berthold, 30, was arrested on charges of felon in possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
Officers helped identify ownership of two herds of cattle in traffic, one in Mosier and another near the Deschutes.
A man was arrested near the skatepark drinking alcohol stolen at a nearby grocery Wednesday afternoon.
A man found hiding in a vehicle was arrested on multiple warrants for assault and failure to register as a sex offender Wednesday evening in the 2000 block of West 6th Street.
A man leaving a store admitted stealing four bottles of beer from Safeway late Wednesday night, and was also found with drug paraphernalia and was arrested and lodged at the regional jail.
Two men who were refused service and told to leave the Vault Bistro and Lounge were trespassed from the property late Wednesday night.

An officer doing a welfare check on a subject near milepost 98, Interstate 84, arrested the subject on a warrant out of Washington and lodged at the regional jail.
Officers assisted Washington State Police with traffic control across The Dalles bridge after a sheet of plate glass was blown from a truck carrying a load of scrap shattered across both lanes was cleaned up early Wednesday afternoon. One lane was closed intermittently for just under an hour.
Kyle B. Long, 26, 2926 West 6th, The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday evening in The Dalles and is suspected of three counts of assault in the fourth degree, a felony, failure to register as a sex offender and probation violations.
Leroy C. Shockley Jr., 45, general delivery The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday night and is suspected of third degree theft and parole violations.
Abel Gutierrez Salamanca, 31, 301 N. 15th, Hood River, was arrested Wednesday afternoon and faces charges of criminal driving while suspended or revoked.
Wesley L. Martens, 26, 315 West 6th #4, The Dalles was arrested Wednesday afternoon in The Dalles and faces charges of theft in the second degree.
Jimmy J. Spino, 22, Lone Pine Inn, The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Fred Meyer and faces charges of probation violations, possession of a controlled substance.
Kelsey E. Baker, 32, #9 Celilo Village, The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Fred Meyer and faces charges of assault in the fourth degree, possession of methamphetamine, and theft in the second degree.
Ryan G. Mulvaney, 24, 931 Verdan St., The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday morning at his home and faces charges of probation violations, possession of a controlled substance.
Ashlee R. Klaviter, 27, 950 Pomona Unit 127, The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday morning and faces charges of parole violations, possession of a controlled substance.
Cyril A. Frank Jr, 19, Warm Springs, was transported to the regional jail from Jefferson County and faces Sherman County charges of failure to appear in regards to Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and reckless driving charges.
Skyler S. Pfleger, 25, 1292 N.E. 4th Street, Redmond, was arrested in Deschutes County on a Sherman County warrant for failure to appear on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
