U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., will discuss the challenges federal regulations pose for local cattlemen at a roundtable meeting Thursday, July 3, hosted by Keith Nantz, a Wasco County rancher who was recently elected chair of the National Young Cattlemen’s Committee.
The forum takes place at 8:45 a.m., July 3, at the main office of the Dillon Land and Cattle Company, 83089 Dufur Valley Road, in Dufur.
Following that meeting, Walden will hold a town hall at 9:30 a.m. at the calving barn in the same location. Walden will provide an update on his work to grow the economy in the gorge and take questions from area residents.
Later that day, he will speak to the Rotary Club in Hood River, his hometown and the place he will celebrate Independence Day by riding in the annual Fourth of July parade.
