Ed Bonham hosts an art show today, Friday, June 27, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Springs at Mill Creek in The Dalles.
Bonham has been a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon since 1978. He has displayed his artwork at Maryhill Museum, The Dalles Art Center and other various place across the Northwest.
The story he tells is that he was 9 years old when he knew what he wanted to do in life. In the third grade Ed was told by a teacher that he didn’t have the talent to be an artist. Ed was not discouraged and to this day continues with his love of painting. Most of his pieces are of landscapes, scenery, etc… of places that he or his family have travelled.
He has been to Ireland, England, Australia, New Zealand and various places across the U.S.. He has lived in The Dalles since 1955 as he worked for OSU/Wasco County Extension Service, focusing on the 4H program. Hehas lived at The Springs at Mill Creek since 2009 and has continued to paint while living here.
The Life Enrichment team is having a variety of his pieces displayed and will serve light appetizers and refreshments. Ed will be there to tell stories about his pieces and some will even be for sale.
