Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

March 6, 3:55 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 400 block of Lincoln Street on a report of a gas leak. Caller reported smelling gas in the building and a customer also made the same observation and the building was evacuated. Nothing out of the ordinary was observed upon arrival. The building was checked and there were no signs of elevated gas levels. The cause of the smell may have come from a vented gas line down the road; no problem was found.

Personnel also responded to eight calls for emergency medical services.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

Police responded to the 1300 block of West 6th Street Thursday morning after a caller reported observing a suspicious male suspect looking into vehicles in the area. Police attempted to contact the subject but he fled the area but was later found in the 1000 block of West 2nd Street. He was detained then released after investigation.

A lost property report was taken Thursday afternoon from the 1100 block of West 6th Street after a victim reported losing their wallet in the area.

A second-degree theft report was taken Thursday afternoon from the high school after a student reported their cell phone was stolen.

Gary Anthony Pilcher, 33, 1320 Dry Hollow Rd., was arrested Thursday evening in his home and is accused of second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal mischief, and domestic harassment.

Police responded to the 2800 block of West 8th Street Thursday evening after a father reported his juvenile son was in possession of marijuana. The juvenile was cited and released for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Shawn Michael Bilcher, 26, 4516 Chenowith Rd., was arrested early Friday morning at East 10th and Schearer streets and is accused of second-degree criminal trespass, harassment, second-degree disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

Police responded to the police station early Friday morning after a taxi driver reported picking up an elderly subject who stated he was robbed at gunpoint. After investigation it was determined that the victim had dementia and the incident did not occur, he was returned to his care facility. A theft report was taken early Friday morning from the 1700 block of East 9th Street after a victim reported her ex-husband came into her apartment and stole her wallet. The incident is under investigation.

Wasco County

An agency assist report was taken Thursday evening after a fire broke out in a home in Wamic. The incident is under investigation as it may have been started by a suspect.

A hazard tow report was taken Thursday evening from Wamic after a vehicle was left abandoned on a road. The vehicle was impounded.

Oregon State Police

An adult male was cited and released for no resident angling license and angling with more than one line Thursday afternoon at the Union Street dock.

Sherman County

Josh Scott Hill, 37, Gresham, was arrested Thursday evening during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 107 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Parole & Probation

John Michael Black, 59, 4405 Highway 30 No. 406, was arrested Thursday morning in the community corrections office and is accused of two counts of probation violation.

Richard Lee David, 44, 2113 East 12th St., was arrested Thursday morning in the 2600 block of West 6th Street and is accused of three counts of violating post-prison supervision sanctions and unlawful possession of methamphetamines.
