Oregon State University Home Extension Services hosts the Mid-Columbia Family and Community Education Study Groups on the annual Spring Tour, Portland’s Glorious Gardens, Thursday, May 22.
Pre-paid registration is required and is now open. Registration must be at the Extension office on the Hood River OSU Campus at 2990 Experiment Station Road by May 15, so participants can choose lunch items, order doughnuts and pay fees. The price of the doughnuts is not included in the registration fee.
Portland’s Glorious Gardens will explore the stunning gardens of Portland, including the Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, and Chinese Gardens.
There will be time for touring and shopping at each stop.
The group will share a lunch in the Pearl District and make a stop at VooDoo Doughnuts for dessert and pre-placed orders before heading home.
Master Gardeners joining the tour will provide detailed information about the horticulture, history, and other facets of each garden.
8 a.m., depart Best Western Hood River Inn (Hood River Pick up);
8:30, depart Best Western Columbia River Inn (Cascade Locks Pick up);
9:30, arrive at International Rose Test Garden;
11, arrive at Portland Japanese Garden,
12:45 p.m., arrive at lunch location (to be determined);
2, arrive at Chinese Garden;
3:30, arrive at VooDoo doughnuts for pick up;
4, depart Portland;
4:45, arrive Best Western Columbia River Inn Parking Lot;
5:05, arrive Best Western Hood River Inn.
