Weather Spotter training set for April 22

Volunteers are being sought to participate in the latest weather spotter training on April 22 in The Dalles and Goldendale.

Weather spotters trained by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) are key volunteers who assist the meteorologists by providing information about storm activity.

The training is free. In Goldendale, training will be at the 911 Center, 199 Industrial Way at 1 p.m. In The Dalles, training will be in Room 1166 of Building 1 at Columbia Gorge Community College, 400 E. Scenic Drive at 6 p.m.

There will be light refreshments and door prizes. The training is co-sponsored by Klickitat and Wasco County Emergency Management.
