Accidents

Wasco County

March 14, 5:11 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Highway 216 at milepost 2. Male driver lost control of his vehicle and went into a ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene. A report was taken.

Oregon State Police

March 14, 8:10 a.m. – Single vehicle versus wildlife, non-injury crash, Highway 197 near milepost 23. A 20-year-old Toppenish, Wash., female driver had struck a deer while driving northbound. Vehicle was towed from the scene. The crash was logged.

March 17, 9:10 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, Highway 97 northbound, milepost 40. A 27-year-old Sacramento, Calif., driver was traveling south when he drifted into the northbound lane, he swerved to get back on his side when he noticed another vehicle coming but the two sides of the vehicle scraped against one another. A 24-year-old Turlock, Calif., male driver had the side of his semi-trailer torn open. A report was taken.

Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

March 14, 9:41 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 1000 block of Webber Road on a report of an electrical problem. Nothing was observed upon arrival. Contact was made with staff who advised they had an electric fireplace that began to smoke. Maintenance staff had already unplugged the unit and attempted to fix. There was no sign of fire damage near the area of the unit.

March 15, 11:16 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 900 block of Irvine Street on a report of a burn complaint. A small smoldering burn pile was located on arrival. There was no one in attendance of the fire and crews began to extinguish. A resident came up to crews advising he just left the residence to see a neighbor across the street. He did have a burn permit but was burning illegal materials. He was counseled on the burning regulations.

March 16, 6:06 a.m. – Personnel responded to the Mosier area on a mutual aid request for assistance with an outbuilding fire.

March 16, 10:32 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 1100 block of Cherry Heights Road on a report of a vehicle fire. The vehicle was about 70 percent involved upon arrival. Car owner advised he parked his vehicle to play basketball and notice flames coming from underneath the vehicle. He was able to push the vehicle away from the building and called for help. The fire was extinguished.

Personnel also responded to six calls for emergency medical services on Saturday, four on Sunday and five on Monday.

The Dalles City

A second-degree theft report was taken from the police station after a victim reported a musical instrument was stolen.

A 36-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Friday afternoon in the 800 block of Floral Court on a circuit court warrant for three counts of probation violation and second-degree child neglect.

A criminal mischief report was taken Friday afternoon in The Dalles after a victim reported his garage had graffiti applied to it.

A 25-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Friday afternoon in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.

Police responded to the 800 block of East 14th Street Friday evening on a report of a neighbor dispute between two woman. A 28-year-old The Dalles woman was arrested and is accused of interference with a police officer, harassment, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree disorderly conduct. A 44-year-old The Dalles woman as also arrested and is accused of third-degree assault, harassment, menacing, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct, and tampering with a witness.

A sex crimes report was taken early Saturday morning at the police station after a female victim reported she was forced to have sex near East 9th and Brewery Grade, the incident is under investigation.

A 21-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Saturday morning in the 1500 block of East 9th Street on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

A 41-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Chenowith Loop Road and is accused of probation violation.

A 28-year-old Hood River man was arrested Saturday evening in the 2700 block of West 7th Street and on a circuit court warrant for parole violation.

A theft report was taken Saturday evening from the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street after a victim reported his wallet was stolen.

A 33-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Sunday morning in the 2400 block of West 10th Street on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

An identity theft report was taken Sunday morning after a victim reported unauthorized charges on her debit card.

An unlawful entry into a motor vehicle report was taken Sunday morning from the 1100 block of Emerson Street.

A second-degree theft report was taken Sunday afternoon in the 400 block of Mt. Hood Street after an employee reported a male suspect fled the store with an unpaid item; the incident is under investigation.

An 18-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 900 block of Verdant Street and is accused of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and second-degree theft.

A found property report was taken Sunday afternoon after a caller reported there was an abandoned vehicle on his property. The bike was picked up and placed in impound.

An informational report was taken Sunday evening after officers responded to a residence on a request of a welfare check on a subject. Contact was made with the man who advised he felt safe at the residence. A woman was being disorderly during the incident attempting to not allow officers to question the subject. She was warned of her actions.

An accident report was taken Monday morning at the police station after a victim came to report an accident he was in in January and the other driver did not have insurance.

An assault report was taken Monday morning after a victim reported another womane had assaulted her. The incident is under investigation.

A missing persons report was taken Monday afternoon after a family member reported a man had been missing since Friday evening. The incident is under investigation.

A theft report was taken Monday evening after a victim reported some money was missing from her purse.

A hit and run report was taken Monday evening from West 9th and Garrison streets.

A 48-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 2500 block of West 2nd Street and is accused of parole violation.

A restraining order violation report was taken early Tuesday morning after a female victim reported a male suspect was leaving harassing messages on her facebook.

A 52-year-old The Dalles woman was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 2700 block of West 7th Street and is accused of fourth-degree domestic assault. She was also arrested on a Clackamas County warrant for second-degree failure to appear.

Wasco County

A second-degree disorderly conduct report was taken Friday afternoon from Wamic, the suspect was not found and the incident is under investigation.

A burglary report was taken early Saturday morning after a male victim reported two male suspects entered his home and hit him on the head with an object. The incident is under investigation.

An agency assist report was taken Saturday afternoon from the 4440 Forest Service Road after a pickup was stuck in the snow. The vehicle was located and removed from the snow by a tow truck.

A 49-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Sunday morning during a traffic stop on West 10th and Vey Way and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A 25-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of East 8th Street on a circuit court warrant for two counts first-degree theft, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, four counts of second-degree burglary, parole violation. He was also arrested on an out of state warrant.

Deputy responded to a location Sunday evening after a caller reported his juvenile daughter locked herself into a bathroom and had ingested something in attempt to harm herself. Investigation determined the victim had drank a bottle of Listerine and she will be fine.

Oregon State Police

A 21-year-old Newman, California man was arrested Saturday afternoon at East 1st and Federal streets and is accused of failure to present and carry an operator’s license and being a fugitive of INS.

A 35-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Saturday evening during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 83 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A 41-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Sunday morning during a traffic stop in the 2700 block of West 7th Street and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Sherman County

A 36-year-old Goldendale man was arrested Friday evening in the Sherman County courthouse on a Sherman County warrant for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A 23-year-old Toppenish, Wash., male driver was arrested Saturday evening during a traffic stop on Highway 97 near milepost 7 and is accused of failure to present and carry an operator’s license and being a fugitive of ICE. A 28-year-old Oakland, Calif., male passenger was also arrested and is accused of first-degree criminal possession of a forgery instrument and being a fugitive of INS.

A 38-year-old Vancouver, Wash., female driver was arrested Sunday afternoon during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 102 and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines, unlawful possession of marijuana, and unlawful delivery of marijuana.

Regional Jail

A 22-year-old The Dalles man was jailed Friday on a municipal court commitment for second-degree criminal trespass.

A 23-year-old The Dalles man was jailed Saturday on a circuit court commitment for third-degree attempted assault.

A 57-year-old Mosier feman was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for three counts of first-degree aggravated theft.

A 60-year-old La Pine woman was booked and released Monday on a circuit court commitment for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Parole & Probation

A 34-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Monday morning at the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.
