Sunday Chronicle corrections

The Sunday, March 16, the editorial incorrectly stated that attorneys from any of the counties in Oregon’s seventh judicial district can run to fill the slot being vacated by retiring Judge Paul Crowley of Hood River. In fact, ORS 3.041, Subsection 3, specifically excludes Wasco County attorneys. It specifies that two of the judges shall be residents or have principal offices in Wasco County and two in Hood River County. Attorneys from Gilliam, Sherman and Wheeler counties can run for any of the seats.

The March 16 story, “Program aims to improve workforce readiness,” incorrectly stated that National Career Readiness Certificate assessments are being given to juniors and seniors at The Dalles High School. Parties are only in early discussions.
