Accidents

The Dalles City

March 24, 10:30 a.m. – A woman reported her Honda Accord was hit by a Neon Quest in the True Value parking lot. Report taken for hit-and-run.

March 22, 10:27 a.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury accident, The Dalles. A male driver was backing out of his driveway and struck an unoccupied tow truck; he was cited and released for driving uninsured.

Wasco County

March 22, 4:56 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury accident, The Dalles. A The Dalles City police officer was rear ended by another driver, a damage to city property report was taken.

March 23, 8:38 a.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury accident, Highway 197 near milepost 62. Female driver was blinded by sun and overcorrected when she drove on the shoulder causing the vehicle to roll over. A report was taken.

Oregon State Police

March 21, 6:37 a.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Highway 97 near milepost 30. A 54-year-old Spokane, Wash., man lost control of his vehicle going off the road. The driver said he fell asleep at the wheel. He was cited for careless driving and driving uninsured. The vehicle was towed and a report was taken.

Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

March 22, 8:12 p.m. – Personnel responded to Wright Street on a report of an arching wire between 9th and 10th Streets. A clamp on a power pole was arcing on and off. There was no sign of a fire near the transformer. The electric company was called out to fix the problem.

March 23, 8:27 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1500 block of Oregon Street on a report of a burn complaint. Investigation discovered that a family had a cooking fire going on in the back and there was no problem found.

Personnel also responded to eight calls for emergency medical services on Friday, seven on Saturday, one on Sunday and five on Monday.

A car was burglarized while parked at Fred Meyer Monday.

A man was observed with alcohol at Richland and 7th streets and arrested on a probation violation Monday.

A small child in the area of 14th Street was advised not to throw rocks at vehicles Monday.

A daughter reported a diamond ring stolen from her mother in June when she was a resident at a local care facility.

A report was taken for criminal mischief Monday at The Dalles Middle School, where a play field was damaged with spray paint.

A theft report was taken Friday morning after a victim reported their food stamp card was stolen; the incident is under investigation.

A 35-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Friday afternoon in the 600 block of East 2nd Street and is accused of two counts of probation violation.

A peace officers hold was taken Friday afternoon from the 1000 block of West 9th Street after staff advised a male suspect was a danger to himself. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A runaway report was taken Friday evening.

A first-degree theft report was taken early Saturday morning after a victim reported someone stole her purse while dining in a restaurant; the incident is under investigation.

A 47-year-old The Dalles man was arrested early Saturday morning at East 8th and Case streets on a circuit court warrant for unlawful possession of methamphetamines.

A 37-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Saturday evening in the 1200 block of East 8th Street and is accused of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree criminal trespass.

A theft report was taken Saturday evening from the 2600 block of West 6th Street after an employee reported a suspect came into the store and left without paying for an item; the incident is under investigation.

A criminal mischief report was taken early Sunday morning after a victim reported a group of subjects threw a brick through her window and fled the area.

A 57-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Sunday morning in his home on a circuit court warrant for probation violation.

A theft report was taken Sunday evening after a victim reported someone had stolen their scooter.

Wasco County

Deputies advised a group camped outside the designated camping area near Boxcar Rapids on the Deschutes they had two hours to clean up and move to a designated campsite.

A tampering with a witness report was taken Friday morning.

A search and rescue report was taken Sunday evening in Dufur after a report came in from a caller that he was stuck in the snow. The vehicle was found and everything was fine.

A second-degree theft report was taken Sunday evening after a victim reported two propane tanks had been stolen from his property.

Oregon State Police

A female driver was cited and released for driving uninsured and driving suspended during a traffic stop Friday afternoon on Old Dufur and Richmond streets; the vehicle was impounded.

A male driver was cited and released for driving while suspended and driving uninsured during a traffic stop Friday evening at East 2nd and Brewery Grade; the vehicle was impounded.

A male driver was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants and open container of alcohol during a traffic stop early Sunday morning on Cherry Heights and Mt. Hood Streets.

A 53-year-old Portland man was arrested Sunday afternoon in Pine Hollow and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants and boating under the influence of intoxicants.

A female driver and male passenger were cited and released for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana during a traffic stop Sunday evening on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 120.

Gilliam County

A 49-year-old Pasco, Wash., woman was arrested Saturday evening during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 near milepost 133 and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

Regional Jail

A 27-year-old Dufur man was jailed Friday on a circuit court commitment for first-degree theft.

A 21-year-old The Dalles man was jailed Saturday on a circuit court commitment for third-degree sodomy.

A Spokane woman, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants Monday morning and lodged at the regional jail..

A The Dalles man, 39, was lodged at the regional jail on four charges of first-degree theft.

Parole & Probation

A 20-year-old The Dalles man was arrested Friday afternoon in the community corrections office on a circuit court warrant for three counts of violation of post-prison supervision sanctions.
