West Second and Webber to close May 6

The intersection of West Second and Webber streets will be closed to all traffic Tuesday, May 6, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Dalles public works will be resurfacing the street from the intersection eastward. The closure will be complete, including emergency vehicles. Since Webber will be closed from West First to West Sixth, there will be no access to the freeway on-ramp, but vehicles eastbound on West Second will be allowed to turn onto Webber to reach West Sixth Street.

On Wednesday, May 7, Webber will be closed between West First and Second streets from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for paving of railroad track approaches.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the work area. Message boards and detour signs will be posted both days to route traffic around closures.

The Union Street Undercrossing or Chenoweth Interchange can be used to reach the port area. Traffic will be diverted between Second and Sixth streets at Cherry Heights Road for east-west access.

Call public works at 541-296-5401, ext. 2001, with questions.
