Mid-Columbia Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Mid-Columbia Medical Center, is encouraging local students pursuing nursing degrees to apply for financial assistance available through several scholarship funds.
The foundation offers the following scholarships to qualifying nursing students:
• Evelyn Kaser Nursing Scholarship supports the educational interests of individuals who wish to become registered nurses with a priority to those who are enrolled in a nursing program;
• Non-Traditional Nursing Student Scholarship is designed for students over age 25 and currently enrolled in a nursing program after an interruption in their studies due to life circumstances.
• Lorna and Joseph Halliday Family Nursing Scholarship is designed for students from the Columbia River Gorge area who are accepted into a nursing program.
“Nurses have such a big impact on patient care in our hospital and clinics,” said Celeste Hill Thomas, executive director of the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation. “We are proud to be able to help our community in such a meaningful way.”
Applications are being accepted now and are due July 15.
