Gadget menagerie training offered

Branches of Fort Vancouver Regional Library in Klickitat and Skamania counties will be offering Gadget Menagerie training on handheld devices for library staff and patrons in mid-May.

The training is provided through the Washington State Library, in partnership with local libraries across the state.

Columbia Gorge sessions include:

Tuesday, May 13, 2-4 p.m., Stevenson Community Library

Wednesday, May 14, 2-4 p.m., White Salmon Valley Community Library

Thursday, May 15, noon-2 p.m., Goldendale Community Library

Thursday, May 15, 3-5 p.m., Market Street Café, 106 Goldendale-Bickleton Rd., Bickleton.

During the sessions, attendees will learn how various eReaders, tablets and other devices work and basic tips from skilled Washington State Library trainers.

The trainers will customize the experience to focus on the needs of the device user. Bring your own device or explore one from the Washington State Library Tech Petting Zoo that includes (subject to availability) Kindles, Nooks, Galaxy Tablets, iPads, Microsoft Surface and a Chromebook.
