Accidents

The Dalles City

May 9, 5:48 p.m. – Vehicle versus pedestrian, non-injury crash, West 6th and Webber streets. Vehicle was pulling into a parking lot and the pedestrian was crossing in an unsafe area. The driver did not wish to pursue charges.

May 10, 9:50 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, 3200 block of Brett Clodfelter Way. Officer assisted with the exchange of information.

May 11, 7:32 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, West 6th and Hostetler streets. Vehicle rolled over at the intersection. A report was taken.

Wasco County

May 10, 3:23 a.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, location undisclosed by the department. Male driver was adjusting his radio when something jumped out in front of him causing him to wreck the vehicle. The driver was cited for no operator’s license.

Oregon State Police

May 9, 3:37 p.m. – Two vehicle, non-injury crash, River Road and Interstate 84 interchange. Trooper assisted with the exchange of information. No report was taken.

May 9, 5:38 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury crash, Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 70. Driver had hydroplaned on the freeway hitting the center barrier causing the vehicle to spin a full circle and came to rest after hitting the guardrail. A report was taken and the vehicle was towed.

Fire

Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

May 9, 7:33 a.m. – Personnel responded to the 900 block of Irvine Street on a report of a burn complaint. Reported their neighbor was burning and the odor of the smoke was foul. A property owner was found burning illegal materials in his burn pile. He was counseled of the burning regulations and the fire was extinguished.

May 10, 9:46 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1900 block of East 9th Street on a report of a burn complaint. Contact was made with a property owner who had three small burn piles. He was advised burning was not allowed after dark and the piles were extinguished.

May 10, 10:58 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 2500 block of West 10th Street on a report of a structure fire. Prior to arrival police advised this was a large open burn at a residence. Contact was made with the property owner who was advised burning was not allowed after dark. The fire was extinguished.

May 10, 11:46 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 1200 block of East 1st Street on a report of a house fire. Upon arrival a fully involved RV was located and the fire was put out. Owner stated she was with some friends when they noticed smoke coming from the RV. She went inside and there was a lot of smoke. She opened the closet door where a heater was plugged in and on and flames started shooting out. She was able to exit the RV unharmed.

May 11, 8:39 p.m. – Personnel responded to the 3200 block of Cherry Heights Road on a report of a burn complaint. The fire was extinguished by the property owner prior to arrival. He was counseled on the burning regulations and that he needed a permit to burn.

Personnel also responded to five calls for emergency medical services on Friday, five on Saturday, five on Sunday and five on Monday.

The Dalles City

Jordan Charles Bay, 32, 412 West 7th St., was arrested Friday morning in the 400 block of West 7th Street on a circuit court warrant for two counts of violation of post-prison supervision sanctions.

Police responded to the high school Friday morning after a caller reported observing several juveniles smoking marijuana in the area. Contact was made with one male juvenile who had a pipe in his possession. He was arrested and lodged at the juvenile detention facility.

Carlos Omar Aranda Ortiz, 20, 726 East 14th St., was arrested Friday afternoon in the 1500 block of Kelly Avenue and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, carrying a concealed weapon, third-degree theft, identity theft, first-degree forgery, negotiating a bad check, and second-degree criminal possession of a forgery instrument.

A theft report was taken Friday afternoon from a location undisclosed by the department after an employee reported a suspect stole a check out of a room. The incident is under investigation.

Leon Ryan Aleck, 36, no listed address, was arrested Friday afternoon in the 500 block of East 10th Street on a Hood River County warrant for third-degree escape. He is also accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamines and providing false information to a police officer.

Police responded to the 1300 block of West 6th Street Friday afternoon after a store manager reported receiving a fraudulent check. A report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

A theft report was taken Friday afternoon from the 3300 block of West 6th Street.

A violation of a restraining order report was taken Friday evening from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported a male suspect left a note on her door that she has a stalking order against. The incident is under investigation.

Leroy Charles Shockley Jr., 45, no listed address, was arrested Friday evening at West 9th and Garrison streets and is accused of third-degree theft, interference with a police officer, and parole violation.

An unlawful entry into a motor vehicle report was taken Saturday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported his unlocked vehicle was entered overnight and had some items taken from within.

George Curtis Kishwalk, 46, Toppenish, Wash., was arrested Saturday morning at West 2nd and Union streets on a Sherman County warrant for probation violation. He is also accused of providing false information to a police officer.

A restraining order violation report was taken early Sunday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a mother reported her daughter has a restraining order against a male suspect who attempted to make contact with the victim earlier in the evening. The incident is under investigation.

Adrian Sapien Sedano, 23, 804 East 3rd St., was arrested Sunday morning in his home and accused of contempt of court.

A found bicycle report was taken Sunday afternoon from a location undisclosed by the department after a property owner reported finding an abandoned bicycle on her property. The bike was seized and impounded.

An agency assist report was taken Sunday afternoon from a location undisclosed by the department after a caller reported his daughter was assaulted while in Beaverton over the weekend. The report will be forwarded to Beaverton Police.

A domestic assault report was taken Sunday evening from a location undisclosed by the department after a female victim reported her boyfriend assault her. The incident is under investigation.

A hit and run report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported his vehicle was struck overnight.

A nuisance dog report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department.

Joseph Leonard Copeland, 56, 616 East 13th St., was arrested Monday morning in his home and is accused of fourth-degree domestic assault and strangulation.

A hit and run report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported a public works vehicle struck her car and left the area. The incident is under investigation.

A theft report was taken Monday morning from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported her license plate was stolen. Suspect fled the area on a bicycle. The incident is under investigation.

Police responded to a location undisclosed by the department Monday afternoon after a caller reported her juvenile brother skipped school and is smoking marijuana in the home. Contact was made with the juvenile suspect who was cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

A theft report was taken Monday afternoon from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported both of his license plates were stolen from his vehicle.

Wasco County

A stolen vehicle report was taken Friday morning from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road after a victim reported her vehicle was stolen earlier in the morning by two unknown subjects.

A burglary report was taken Friday afternoon from a location undisclosed by the department after a victim reported his shed was broken into and had some items missing.

A domestic assault report was taken Friday afternoon from the 4100 block of Chenowith Road after a male victim reported his girlfriend slapped him twice and broke an ashtray on his hand while her toddler was present. The incident is under investigation.

An agency assist report was taken Friday evening from West 9th and Garrison streets after helping city police with a foot pursuit.

Deputy responded to a location undisclosed by the department Sunday evening on report of a domestic dispute. Contact was made with both subjects who advised they got into an argument and there was mutual pushing and shoving. Both were warned of their conduct and advised to separate for the evening.

Oregon State Police

Mary Jane Smith, 37, Daphne, Alabama, was arrested Friday evening during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 eastbound, milepost 106 on an Alabama Department of Corrections warrant for being a fugitive from the state of Alabama.

A 32-year-old male driver from Pendleton was cited and released for possession of a controlled substance and driving while suspended Monday afternoon during a traffic stop on Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 85.

Regional Jail

Mayleen Adilene Ortez, 25, 509 East 11th St., was jailed Friday on a circuit court commitment for contempt of court.

Tracy Leroy Mosley, 52, Vancouver, Wash., was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for reckless driving.

Ashlee Renae Oliva, 26, 812 West 10th St., was jailed Monday on a circuit court commitment for second-degree burglary and first-degree theft.

Parole & Probation

David James Jacobsen, 31, Dufur, was arrested Friday morning in the community corrections office and is accused of probation violation.

Matthew Stephen Phillips, 21, 3625 West 8th St., was arrested Monday morning in the community corrections office and is accused of two counts of probation violation.
