May 24, 11:26 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury accident on Interstate 84 milepost 87 eastbound. Vehicle was unable to avoid three deer in the roadway, hit all three. Vehicle sustained major damage and was towed.
May 25, 2:53 p.m. – Single vehicle, non-injury accident on Interstate 84, westbound milepost 60. Vehicle blew a tire and lost control. Vehicle towed.
May 24, 7:21 p.m. – Scooter versus pedestrian, injury accident at City Park, The Dalles. A 14-year-old driver of a scooter struck and injured a younger girl, cited for careless driving and unlawful operation of a motor-assisted scooter.

Saturday, May 24, 4:52 p.m. – Crews responded to 5995 Cherry Heights road on a brush and grass fire. Fire was about 100 feet by 100 feet, a burn pile that spread to surrounding vegetation. Burn piles had appeared extinguished at noon, but were sparked anew by the wind.
Saturday, May 24, 9:18 p.m. – Crews responded to smoke in the alley between 13th and 14th near Court Street. Burn pile had already been extinguished by homeowner, who had a burn permit.
Monday, May 25, 7:56 p.m. – Crews responded to 11th and Morton on a grass fire, started by a lawnmower. Several small burned spots, less than a foot square, and had already been extinguished.
Monday, May 25, 10:19 p.m. – Crews responded to a grass fire at 1513 West 6th. A large bush and nearby grass was burning, but no structures were threatened. Fire was knocked down within five minutes. Cause was unknown.
Personnel responded to nine calls for emergency medical services on Friday, four Saturday and five Monday.
The Dalles City
A man reported Saturday morning his unlocked vehicle was entered and a firearm stolen the night before.
A woman reported Saturday morning squatters appear to have broken into a vacant house and trailer.
A store reported a man stole shrimp and water Saturday afternoon, and gave police the man’s license plate number. Police were unable to locate the man at the time.
A store reported Saturday evening a shoplifter just left with a full cart of groceries worth at least $200. They got her license plate number and reported it to police.
A woman reported Saturday evening a man had just beat her up and she fought back. The man wanted an ambulance. Alvin Edward Brown, 59, no address, was arrested on charges of harassment and fourth-degree assault.
A store reported Saturday evening they had a machete/knife combo. Jacob Kenneth Bailey, 24, 5900 Fivemile Rd., was arrested and is accused of third-degree theft.
A man called Sunday evening to report a woman was knocking on the door and a man inside the house has a restraining order against her. Deda Cathleen Carter, 39, 527 W. Third., was arrested on violation of a restraining order.
A business reported a vehicle clipped the side of its building, in a location undisclosed by police, and took off. The vehicle was located by police with fresh damage, but the suspect wouldn’t come to the door.
A woman called 911 screaming for police, and the phone disconnected. Another 911 call was made and nothing was heard. The woman then told police her boyfriend was breaking all her stuff. Hezekiha John Petty, 34, 3308 Royal Crest, was arrested and is accused of first-degree criminal mischief, interference with making a report, harassment and fourth-degree assault.
A caller reported Sunday afternoon their vehicle was broken into and headphones were taken and a bag of rope was left behind.
Jason Michael Barker, 27, no address, was arrested at Sixth and Pomona and is accused of three counts of probation violation and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.
A man called 911 Sunday evening several times to report people were being held against their will. The calls were unfounded. Lawrence Robet Cartney, 67, 126 W. 4th St., was arrested on two counts of improper use of 911.
An officer checked the welfare of a horse and mule Friday morning, animals were thin but not malnourished and were being fed.
A man near Clear Lake was cited for vandalism Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to report of a disturbance in the 900 block of Irvine Dtreet Friday night. Contact was made with those involved and they were counseled.
An ATV at McCubbins Campground was warned against operating on the roadway Saturday afternoon.
Deputy assisted two intoxicated campers looking for their dog, and transported them back to camp.
Oregon State Police
Officers stopped a vehicle on I-84 eastbound, milepost 104, Friday morning for speeding in the Biggs Junction construction zone. A Salem resident was ticketed for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana/hash.
A driver was cited Friday afternoon on eastbound I-84, milepost 97 for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
A vehicle without plates was stopped in the Cascade Locks area, driver was uninsured and the vehicle impounded. Driver was provided a courtesy transport to The Dalles.
Following a traffic stop near Wasco, a man was arrested on probation violations and lodged at the regional jail.
Officers cited a man for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana after the vehicle he was riding in on Interstate 84, eastbound milepost 100, was stopped for tailgating.
