Cousins hits Tesla’s map

Cousins Country Inn will soon be the site of the only Tesla charging station in the gorge.

Cousins has inked a deal with Tesla, said General Manager Addie Case.

“Tesla Customers are asking for more charging stations so that they may be able to travel with their families, etc.,” explained Case. “Tesla has many strategically placed charging stations across the country, but is now working to fill in, so that their customers are able to take trips.”

Case said Tesla is working quickly to see that the charging station is completed during the heavy travel cycle, though a completion date hasn’t been set. She is looking forward to the benefits having such a charging station will bring to Cousins and to the area.

“I think Cousins is the perfect location for a charging station,” she said. “They can charge their cars while they eat a meal or spend the night before heading out again. I think it will bring a new and different traveler to Cousins. The Tesla customer is an exciting niche to be part of.”

Case said the company will celebrate when the station is completed.

Tesla manufactures and sells electric cars and electric vehicle power trains and first gained widespread attention by producing the Tesla Roadster, the first fully electric sports car. Its high-end products target affluent buyers.
