The No. 1 Dufur Rangers converted on 96 of 105 attempts for 35 kills in taking a three-game sweep over South Wasco County Tuesday evening in a Big Sky Conference volleyball match at Dufur High.
Of the 35 kills, Taylor Darden dropped 19, plus three digs and two blocks, and Sydney Reed paved the offensive way with 30 assists, three service aces and five digs.
The Lady Rangers had the home crowd buzzing early in the match with a 25-12 winner in the first stanza.
Energized by that effort, Dufur answered the bell in the second and third sets, ading scores of 25-15 and 25-11 to get the win.
Montana Ferres chipped in with eight kills, 13 digs and two aces, and Kirsten Sorensen had a top-notch effort on the court, going for three kills, four aces, three digs and two blocks.
Chloe Beeson worked two kills, two service aces and four digs.
Dufur coach Kelly Darden was impressed by the ferocity her group displayed.
“I thought we came out and played well tonight,” coach Darden said. “Kirsten served awesome and had some great hits on the net.”
Dufur (18-3 overall, 2-0 league) travels to Ione at 5 p.m. Thursday.
For the Redsides (3-9, 2-1), they host to Horizon at 5 p.m. Thursday.
