Chronicle nets 15 state, national awards

Changing Times, a feature package that explored wheat farmer David Brewer’s transition into a marketplace in which consumers want to know the source of their food, took second place in the National Newspaper Publishers Association contest. Lisa Becharas, a graphic designer at the Chronicle and Columbia Gorge Press, earned first place for “Best Graphics” tied to the story “A Cowboy’s Home” that focused on the residence and lifestyle of Maupin rancher Keith Nantz.
