Personnel responded to seven calls for emergency medical services Friday, nine on Saturday, four on Sunday and seven on Monday.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

A man in the 3000 block of West Seventh Street reported Friday morning one neighbor was stealing another neighbor’s electricity via a plainly visible extension cord running from one home to the other. He said the cord was plugged in whenever the victim neighbor was gone. A second neighbor also reported the situation and the victim neighbor was later contacted and said he did not permit the use of his electricity or water, but did not want to charge the perpetrators with theft of service.

A caseworker called Friday morning to report a client, a registered sex offender, had not been in contact for two days. The client was contacted by police the previous day at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, where he was trespassed. A few hours later, the man was found sleeping near Sixth and Webber and was taken to the hospital by medics.

A caller reported Friday afternoon a man was asleep on the ground outside a store in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street. Michael David Shinnick, 45, The Dalles, was arrested for post-prison supervision sanction.

A report was taken Friday afternoon from the 1000 block of Pomona Street for elder abuse.

A man in the 300 block of West Eighth Street reported Friday afternoon two juveniles wrote in his wet cement. He was able to fix it in time. Officers could not find the juveniles.

A man in the 400 block of East Second Street reported a teen stole a card game Friday afternoon. The teen was cited and released to his mother for third-degree theft.

A business in the 300 block of West Third Street reported Friday afternoon a customer threw a roll of toilet paper, which hit an employee, yelled at several people, then backed into a sign as she drove away.

A man reported Friday evening he was driving on East 14th when another vehicle clipped his mirror and drove off. The suspect was contacted and knew he hit the mirror, but didn’t think there was any damage. Information was exchanged.

A man in the 900 block of Irvine reported Friday evening two females were going door to door and were aggressive, refusing to leave. He put his hand on one female’s shoulder to guide her to leave and she freaked out. The incident was logged.

A woman in the 3000 block of West 10th reported Friday evening her nephew saw a man slap a woman nearby. Police talked to the woman, who denied any problems and didn’t want to talk to officers. They did not see any injuries. The incident was logged.

A man in the 900 block of East 13th Street reported Friday evening getting threatening voicemails and had for several years. Police told the caller to stop, but the man, who was drunk, immediately called the victim back while police were still there. The victim said he would press charges if the caller left any more voicemails.

Gary L. Griffin, 50, San Angelo, Texas, was arrested at Third and Pentland early Saturday morning and was accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

A store in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street reported a man was on the premises and refusing to leave early Saturday morning. Zachary Nathaniel Flock, 19, The Dalles, was arrested for second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of spitting on the custody barrier divide in the vehicle and trying to kick out the custody door window.

A caller reported Saturday morning a vehicle followed her to West Sixth and Cherry Heights and the driver took pictures of the front and back of her vehicle and of her as she was going into a store.

A caller Saturday afternoon reported a drunken man in a store in the 500 block of Mt. Hood Street was asking to touch female customers’ bottoms. The man was trespassed from the store and warned about disorderly conduct.

A caller in the 2400 block of West Seventh Street reported Saturday afternoon a homeless female has been living in a storage unit since the first of the month and she’s tried to have her move along but she just screams at employees that they are harassing her. The caller recently noted that the woman has a propane tank in the unit with her, which was very dangerous. The 70-year-old homeless woman told police she was in the process of leaving.

A wallet was found in the 2900 block of East Second Street and was turned in Saturday evening.

A caller reported Saturday evening four dogs were panting heavily in a car in a parking lot in the 400 block of Mt. Hood Street. An officer noted it was 54 degrees outside, the windows were fogged but the dogs were not panting or in distress. No concern.

A caller in the 800 block of Cherry Heights reported Saturday evening finding a “sizable bone” and officers found it was a deer bone.

A caller reported people being loud at Kelly Viewpoint late Saturday. An officer found teens with a megaphone, explaining the loudness. He asked them to keep it down and they said they would.

A caller reported Sunday afternoon being assaulted at the skate park. The aggressor was warned for disorderly conduct and told he will be trespassed from the skate park if he continues with fighting behavior. The two had argued over who could complete the best skateboard trick.

A woman in the 2000 block of East 12th Street reported Sunday evening neighbors were shooting bb guns and when she confronted them they threatened her chickens. She told police she didn’t see any shooting but thought she heard a bb gun being pumped. She heard something said about her chickens and assumed it was a threat to shoot them. Police talked to the neighbors, who did not admit to shooting a bb gun.

James Daniel Perez Hammond, 22, The Dalles, was arrested Monday morning in the 3800 block of West 10th Street and is accused of fourth-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct, and harassment.

Police responded to the 900 block of Union Street Monday afternoon and arrested a juvenile male who is accused of fourth-degree assault. He was lodged at the juvenile detention facility.

A hit and run report was taken Monday afternoon from the 800 block of East 11th Street.

Wasco County

A blue Dodge pickup was found unoccupied Friday morning in a ravine approximately five miles from Ketchum Road. Contact with the registered owner of the vehicle was unsuccessful. The truck did not damage property and was on private land so a “Do not call 911” sticker was placed on the vehicle.

An identity theft report was taken Friday afternoon from the 2800 block of Threemile Road after a woman received a letter from the IRS stating someone used her Social Security number to electronically file her taxes.

Russell Allen Irwin, 50, The Dalles, was arrested Friday afternoon from the 4400 block of West Highway 30 for violating probation.

David Henry Holt, 44, The Dalles, was arrested Friday afternoon for violating probation.

Keri Jo Sutton, 39, The Dalles, was arrested Sunday morning from 6th Place and Washington Street for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and failing to perform duties of a driver.

Aaron Michael Sumbury, 36, The Dalles, was arrested Monday evening during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Cherry Heights Road and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, and recklessly endangering another person.

Oregon State Police

Steven Ray Ram, 40, The Dalles, was arrested early Tuesday morning during a traffic stop and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

Sherman County

Michaela Elizabeth Hays, 19, The Dalles, was arrested Friday morning and is accused of first degree burglary, first degree aggravated theft, second degree burglary, first degree theft, first degree criminal mischief and felony criminal conspiracy.

Ian Jon Jacobson Ashby, 25, Wasco, was arrested Sunday night and is accused of fourth degree assault.

Regional Jail

James Brown Walker, 71, Stanfield, was jailed Monday on a court commitment for three counts of false application of a fishing license.

Lonnie Darrell Schuepbach, 72, Prineville, was jailed Monday on a court commitment for negotiating a bad check.

Shaw Christopher Beam, 39, Kent, was jailed Monday on a Sherman County court commitment for probation violation.

Parole and Probation

Andrew William Glen Buckles, 27, The Dalles, was arrested Monday afternoon in the community corrections and is accused of probation violation.
