The 10th annual salmon and steelhead tournament in Wasco is Saturday, Sept. 24. Check in at Heritage Landing, on the mouth of the Deschutes River. Registration is from 5 to 8 a.m., fishing will take place in the Celilo pool of the Columbia River. Tournament fishing in the Deschutes River will not be allowed.
The tournament will run from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Adults and kids over 18, $20, Under 18, $5. Includes a meal ticket.
Weigh-in is 1 to 3 p.m. at the city of Wasco historic RR Depot. Spectators welcome, food available for purchase.
There will also be a silent auction and there is an “I, also, fished” category. Trophies and prizes awarded 3 p.m.
Grand prize is a hand blown fish sculpture by Andy Nichols of Nichols Art Glass, The Dalles.
Event is partially funded by Bank of Eastern Oregon, PGE wind project, and Camps Plumbing of The Dalles.
