The Dalles City

Sept. 6, 6:59 a.m. – Single vehicle crash, 1700 block of West Sixth Street. Vehicle got stuck in bushes after spinning out on freeway on ramp, most likely due to new rain. The driver was able to get the vehicle out of the bushes.

Wasco County

Sept. 6, 8:48 p.m. – A motorcycle vs. deer crash with injury was reported in 4800 block of Mill Creek.


Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue

Sept. 6, 9:33 a.m. -- Personnel responded to the 2100 block of West 10th Street, where a fan on a bed overheated and caught the bedding on fire. The owner tried to put the fire out with three portable fire extinguishers and then called 911 when it continued to smoke. Fire crews removed the mattress. A minor black spot was found on the bedroom wall but had not penetrated the wall. Crews cleared the smoke that was throughout the house and disposed of the fan.

Sept. 6, 10:30 a.m. – Personnel responded to 5500 block of Highway 30 on a prohibited burn. Crews found a man with a small fire in a burn barrel with a garden hose nearby. He was told burning was prohibited and he put the fire out.

Crews also responded to four calls for emergency medical service.

The Dalles City

Caller in 2100 block of West Seventh Street reported Tuesday morning someone forced the window down on vehicle and stole a compound bow with accessories, two subs, several tools and the vehicle registration.

Caller in the 2900 block of West Sixth Street reported a found wallet Tuesday morning.

A caller in the 300 block of West Fourth Street reported Tuesday morning the theft of an antique stove sometime in the last month.

A caller reported a crash in the 1000 block of Lone Pine Tuesday afternoon and said one vehicle has the front end smashed in. A vehicle hit a guard rail. Laraine Vera Rogers, 48, The Dalles, was arrested and is accused of driving under the influence of intoxicants, controlled substances, misdemeanor.

A caller in the 500 block of East Third Street reported a theft Tuesday afternoon, and it was caught on surveillance tape.

Mark Richard Fine, 57, The Dalles, was arrested at the east end of the tie plant and is accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

A caller in the 3100 block of Old Dufur Road reported Tuesday afternoon her dog bit her on Sunday and she’s already received medical treatment at the hospital. The dog was taken to Home at Last to complete quarantine.

A woman reported to police Tuesday afternoon she was in town visiting her mother and was receiving death threats via Facebook messenger. An officer determined there was no crime, and suggested she keep the message and block the sender.

A woman in the 2700 block of West Seventh Street reported Tuesday afternoon her son ran away.

A caller reported Tuesday afternoon his vehicle was backed into when it was parked on East 12th near the tennis courts at the high school.

A caller in the 600 block of West 10th Street reported Tuesday evening his wife thinks someone tried coming into the house, and she found the back door ajar. She heard someone running away. Officer discussed security options with caller.

A caller at Sorosis Park reported a male came over and threatened to beat up a high school student. When an adult stepped in front of the suspect, he threatened to beat them both up. It stemmed from an incident at school that caused the suspect to be suspended. The suspect was contacted and said he would not approach the other student again.

A caller in the 2400 block of East 10th Street reported Tuesday evening his window was broken out.

A caller in the 2400 block of West 10th Street reported Tuesday evening a woman came into the house unannounced and scolded an occupant of the house about owing money for babysitting. An officer called the woman’s employer to ask that she contact him, but she never did. The caller was told to call police again if the woman returns so she could be trespassed.

A caller in the 300 block of West Sixth reported Tuesday evening someone was peeking in their window and the dog started barking and scared him off.

A caller in the 600 block of West 11th Street reported seeing two males in dark clothes peeking in her neighbor’s car with a flashlight and when she went outside they ran off. Officers searched the area and didn’t find the males.

Christopher Zoey Schwarzbach, 21, The Dalles, was arrested late Tuesday on Interstate 84 at milepost 82.5 westbound and is accused of two counts of probation violation.

James Earl Mulvaney, 22, The Dalles, was arrested at S& D Trailer Park late Tuesday and is accused of two counts of parole violation.

Wasco County

A caller in the 2800 block of Skyline reported Tuesday afternoon her mailbox was run over.

A caller in the 200 block of Center Street asked Tuesday evening that her child’s father be trespassed from her property. A deputy telephoned the man and told him not to contact the caller anymore and he agreed.

Jay Lynn Ruddell, 34, Ford, Wash., was arrested in the 3800 block of West 10th Street Tuesday evening and is accused of parole violation.

A caller in the 55000 block of Smock Road reported Tuesday evening the neighbor’s cattle keep getting out. He asked that the owner be contacted and warned about having livestock at large.

Oregon State Police

Roderick Martin Pease, 61, Woodburn, was arrested on Interstate 84 at milepost 97 eastbound early Tuesday morning and is accused of two counts of first degree failure to appear and one count of parole violation.

Sherman County

Seth William Hedberg, 37, The Dalles, was processed on a court commitment for driving under the influence of intoxicants, alcohol.

Regional Jail

Kristopher James Franklin, 41, Tygh Valley, was processed at the regional jail on charges of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse and second-degree encouraging child sex abuse.

August Jimmy Law, 60, Rufus, was processed at the regional jail on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Parole & Probation

Stephen Randall Shockey, 25, no address listed, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at Wasco County Circuit Court on a probation violation.

Michael James Minson, 21, The Dalles, was arrested at Wasco County Circuit Court and is accused of probation violation.
