The agency responded to six calls for emergency service on Tuesday.

Police Reports

The Dalles City

A caller reported Tuesday morning she’d taken her child to the emergency room the previous day and left her car door ajar and the vehicle running. When she got back outside, a gaunt man was getting ready to jump in her car. She intercepted him and he said he was going to park her vehicle for her. Hospital staff told the man to leave, and the hospital also has video of the man.

A caller in the 200 block of River Road reported Tuesday morning someone stole cans from their facility. She wanted the people told to stop.

A caller reported Tuesday morning he was assaulted the day before in the Chenowith School parking lot by a man who hit him in the head with a stick over accusations that the caller had molested a female. The caller did not want to press charges.

A caller in the 1600 block of Montana reported Tuesday morning someone went through his vehicle last night but nothing was damaged or taken.

A caller in the 100 block of West 12th Street reported Tuesday morning his vehicle was keyed on both sides, all four tires were flattened and the stereo head was stolen. He asked only that it be logged for information.

A caller in the 2400 block of East 18th Street reported Tuesday morning a .357 magnum revolver was stolen from his unlocked pickup the night before.

A caller at Dry Hollow Elementary reported an escalating custody dispute at the school Tuesday afternoon. Both parents were gone when police arrived.

Derrick Andrew Ellis, 24, was arrested at 10th and Hostetler Tuesday afternoon and is accused of probation violation, providing false information to a police officer and failure to carry/present a driver’s license.

A caller came to the police station Tuesday afternoon to report that the previous evening her vehicle was hit at Fourth and Union and the other driver, in a brown Chevrolet truck did not stop and she did not get a license plate.

A caller in the 1100 block of Oregon reported Tuesday evening a man in his underwear was trying to get into different apartments. The man was having a mental episode and was told not to do this activity again.

A caller reported Tuesday evening a white and blue school bus went through a fence and is now in a field by St. Mary’s Academy. The caller said he was a passenger in the bus, he declined to identify the driver, when it had brake failure and left the road damaging a fence and a stop sign at West 13th and Walnut.

A caller in the 1200 block of West Sixth Street reported a customer assaulted another customer then attempted to run off with a lot of merchandise. The suspect attempted to knock the phone out of the hands of a man who was calling to report the incident. The merchandise was recovered and the store did not want to press charges.

A caller reported a man and woman were screaming at each other on Lone Pine Drive Tuesday evening. Their probation officers were contacted.

Chase Brendon McCraken, 30, Stevenson, was arrested following a traffic stop at Ninth and Trevitt late Tuesday and booked into the regional jail on warrants for second-degree failure to appear and being a fugitive from another state.

Wasco County

A caller in the 5300 block of Mill Creek Road Tuesday evening reported a man who she previously had a restraining order against was outside using an excavator to push a truck out of the way. Deputies learned it was a civil dispute that got heated verbally.

A caller in the 4100 block of Chenowith Road reported Tuesday evening her sister’s boyfriend was smoking marijuana in front of small children. A deputy counseled the man on being responsible with his marijuana use.

A deputy heard a loud jet boat with open exhaust on the river Tuesday evening, noting the noise was so loud he could not hear passing vehicles or his police radio over the noise. He found the boater leaving the water with his jet boat and ticketed him for open exhaust.

Marshal Alcos Johnson, 23, The Dalles, was brought to the regional jail on a prisoner transport and booked on two charges of probation violation.

Robert Canfield Wusthoff, 41, The Dalles, was brought to the regional jail on a prisoner transport and booked on a charge of parole violation.

Oregon State Police

Dennis Wayne Ladoux, 61, The Dalles, was arrested Tuesday afternoon at the junction of Hwy 197 and Hwy 30 and is accused of failure to register as a sex offender, felony.

Steven Paul Cooper, 55, Meridian, Idaho, was arrested Tuesday evening at Interstate 84 westbound, milepost 89 and is accused of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.

Joseph Rex Lyons, 26, The Dalles, was brought to the regional jail on a prisoner transport and booked for probation violation.

Sherman County

Donald Scott Davis, 37, Biggs Junction, was brought to the regional jail on a prisoner transport and booked for post prison supervision sanction.

Gilliam County

Kristina Elena Hernandez, 28, Portland, was brought to the regional jail on a prisoner transport and booked for failure to appear.
