KIWANIS PROGRAMS: Kiwanis meetings are held every Thursday at noon at Spooky’s Pizza, visitors welcome. This week’s events include: Dennis Knox, the new CEO of Mid-Columbia Medical Center. For more information go to www.thedalleskiwanis.org.

CIVIC ELVIS: With an uncanny likeness and incredible voice, Jeffrey Elvis performs the original hits of Elvis Presley at the Civic Auditorium, 7 p.m. Jeffrey hits the road this August, shakin’ his hips and wowing the crowds in Washington, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, Oregon, and California. The Civic’s Club 22 will open at 6 p.m. for beer, wine, and light appetizers. Tickets at: https://elvis.media.

Friday, August 17

FRIDAY PINOCHLE: Friday night Pinochle at the Mid-Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W 9th Street, The Dalles. Play begins at 6 p.m. New players and beginners welcome. Enter through the door on the 10th Street side. For more information contact the center.

Saturday, August 18

SOCIETY PROGRAM: “The Grange Organization” will be presented at 11 a.m. at the Moody/ Rorick House at 300 W. 13th Street in The Dalles. The presenters will be Lois Root, Carol Root Seeber and Marilyn Wilson. The Grange was organized in 1867 to advance methods of agriculture and promote social and economic needs of farmers. Want to learn more? Historical Society Programs are free to the public and refreshments are available.
