ARTIST SERIES: Artist series, Linda Krasfic’s baby quilts on display at the Sherman County Historical Museum in July. Blue Star Museum with free admission all month for active military personnel and families.

Thursday, July 26

KIWANIS PROGRAMS: Kiwanis meetings are held every Thursday at noon at Spooky’s Pizza, visitors welcome. This week’s events include: No noontime meeting: 5:30 p.m. gathering at Laura Comini’s home. For more information go to www.thedalleskiwanis.org.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Jean Vercouteren will present a program on "Celilo Village-Past and Present.” The program will be at the Moody/Rorick House, 300 W. 13th St. in The Dalles at 11a.m. Jean has a power point presentation with pictures of the many moves the village made before and since the flooding of Celilo Falls and the recent reconstruction completed in 2009. Saturday, August 4

FOUNDERS CUP: The 19th Annual Founder’s Cup Golf Tournament, presented by Columbia State Bank and Columbia Gorge Community College Foundation, will be held at Indian Creek Golf Course in Hood River. The annual event promises a fun-filled day that brings together golf, friends, food, and raffle prizes. This year, the tournament will benefit student scholarships. SEWING MACHINE: Take control of your sewing machine, 10 am to noon, at Wasco School Events Center in the old Wasco grade school, 800 Barnett St. Cost is $15. Learn to understand and love your sewing machine: If a sewing machine isn’t set up correctly, no matter how much you yell, scream or swear at it, it still will not work correctly. ART WALK: Community art walk, with wool spinners and quilt event, downtown Moro, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
