‘Hail to the Jeep’

The Columbia Gorge Veterans Museum invites community members to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday by visiting the “Hail to the Jeep” car show with dad.

The event on Second Street in downtown The Dalles takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. and is open to all cars and motorcycles. Hot dogs and ice cream will be sold.

Got Your Six, a band that formed to raise funds for veteran causes, will perform.

Online registration begins today, June 14, and the entry fee is $20. Vehicles will be parked in the parking lot of the former J.C. Penney store and on Washington Street.

Awards will be given out in the following categories: Best in Show; Runner Up Best in Show; Best Jeep; Best Custom; Best Under Construction; Best Paint; Most Likely to Stop Traffic (People’s Choice) and National Guard Favorite.

The veterans museum is located next to American Legion Post 19 at 203 E. Second Street and is open from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.
