Regional author mixes adventure, memoir

For anyone who is intrigued with the Pacific Northwest’s majestic peaks, “Ever Wild: A Lifetime on Mount Adams” offers a first-time, close-up look at Mount Adams through the lens and adventures of author and photographer Darryl Lloyd.

Through a personal journey spanning seven decades, Darryl Lloyd cemented his place in the sweeping story of Washington state’s Mount Adams.

As the foremost authority on this northern Cascades massif, a sometimes overlooked, but never forgotten, hulk of a mountain, Lloyd mixes adventure memoir with doses of human history, geography, geology, botany, and a vital call for protection.

Lloyd will present his lifetime of Mt. Adams stories and photographs at a variety of venues in the Columbia River Gorge region.

On Friday, Nov. 2, at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., presentation follows at 7 p.m. Dinner tickets are $15 and include the book presentation.

A second presentation is planned Saturday, Nov. 3, 3-5 p.m., at Klindts Booksellers, 315 E. 2nd Street, The Dalles.
