Twin Tunnels run on tap The Mosier Twin Tunnels 3k, 5k and 12k run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, starting at 10 a.m. in Hood River. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and costs are $10 without a shirt and $20 with a shirt on the day of the event. Awards offered for the top-3 in each race class. Call 541-993-2090 for more information. Burger & Ball Bash planned The Dalles Wahtonka football team is hosting the 21st annual Burger and Ball Bash starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Wahtonka High School. Organization set to start semi-pro soccer squad

The club’s dream is to help establish a complex in TD A group of volunteers is establishing a semi-pro soccer club in the Columbia Gorge and they are looking for partners to help support this grass roots cause. This is an international effort, involving participation by Brazilian players, who would like to bring their expertise to the Pacific Northwest.

Columbia Gorge Hustlers go 1-2 at state tournament; ready for another deep run There were plenty of highlights surrounding the Columbia Gorge 18U ‘AAA’ Hustlers this season. The Hustlers finished with a winning percentage of .760 and secured an opening-round game at the recently completed Oregon ‘AAA’ American Legion State Tournament at Harry and David Field in Medford, but suffered defeat in their final two games to end the 2013 campaign.

The Dalles Babe Ruth 15U team came up against the proverbial immovable object Tuesday against the host Twin Cities team of Centralia, losing 11-4 against last year’s fourth place winners at the Babe Ruth World Series.
