Bryan James Gallagher, M.D., C.D.E., 55, of American Canyon, Calif., formerly of Elkton, Md., and The Dalles, Ore., died Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
He was born in San Diego, Calif., but moved with his family to Elkton, Md., as a young boy.
He graduated from Elkton Senior High School, the University of Delaware and Georgetown University School of Medicine. He did his postdoctoral training at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University.
He was a Senior Medical Scientific Director and a member of the Medical Circle of Excellence for Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Co., Inc., Princeton, N.J.
He had a passionate advocacy for all diabetes related causes. He and his family could be found volunteering for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure in Yountville, Calif., and multiple Taking Control of Your Diabetes venues.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Eileen Metz Gallagher; their children, Bryanna Lynn, Katie Scarlett and Rhett Mitchell Gallagher, and step-daughter, Tara Louise McCoy, all of American Canyon, Calif.; sister, Marlene Linke, Lake Mary, Fla.; and brother, Mark Gallagher, Wilmington, Del.
